Before the journey
Set up a quiet room with a hiding place, bedding, a scratcher and familiar food. Put water away from food, and the litter tray well away from both. Check windows and doors before opening the carrier.
Let confidence grow
Place the carrier on the floor and let your cat choose when to emerge. Sit nearby without reaching into their hiding place. Introduce people gradually and keep daily routines predictable. Some cats explore quickly; others need much longer.
Keep a simple record
In their private care dashboard, note eating, drinking and litter use. Add questions for your first vet appointment. If your cat seems unwell or cannot eat or drink normally, contact your vet rather than waiting for them to settle.
