Shorten the journey

Keep food, water, rest and litter within comfortable reach. Offer warm resting places and easier access to favourite spots. A low-sided litter tray can help when stepping or climbing becomes difficult.

Keep familiar routines

Offer gentle play and grooming according to your cat’s interest. Changes in sleep, appetite, weight, movement or grooming deserve attention rather than being dismissed as age.

Share observations with your vet

Ask how often check-ups are appropriate. Use separate weight and care records to capture a pattern over time. Your vet can interpret the changes and advise on treatment or adjustments to the home.
