Follow their interest
Use toys that your cat can watch, stalk and catch. Start with short sessions and stop when they disengage. Different cats enjoy different speeds, textures and times of day.
Keep hands out of the game
Use a toy rather than fingers or toes as the target. Supervise string and wand toys and put them away after play. Inspect toys for loose pieces, and let your cat catch the toy instead of keeping it permanently out of reach.
Rotate, rather than accumulate
A few familiar toys offered in rotation can provide variety. Record favourites as private notes or share a play photo on their public profile, keeping the two spaces separate.
